I had to learn more about who The Archies, the band, really were so I looked it up. You probably remember producer Don Kirschner from Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert, right? He put together this band of studio musicians which included Vocals by Ron Dante, whose history includes co-producing and singing on Barry Manilow’s first nine albums. Jeff Barry, who wrote most of the songs, also wrote hits like “Do Wah Diddy Diddy”, “Chapel Of Love”, and “Leader Of The Pack”. There is a lot of great history about many different singers and performers in this band if you search for it.
