New edition on limited blue marble vinyl, mastered at Abbey Road from analog tape. TUBEWAY ARMY was the name of Gary Numan’s band. Formed in 1977, their self-titled debut album was released at the tail end of 1978. This album truly paved the way for Gary Numan to become an electronic pioneer. It was during the sessions for this album that he came across a minimoog synthesizer by accident in the recording studio, and the rest is history.
Gary Numan is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who rose to fame in the late 1970s as the lead of the band Tubeway Army. Known for his distinctive voice and innovative use of synthesizers, Numan’s early hits include “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” and “Cars”. He has since released numerous solo albums and continues to tour and perform. Numan’s influence on electronic and alternative music has been widely recognized and he remains a pioneering figure in the genre.
