Subvert Comics #1 – Spain Rodriguez, Underground Adult Comic, Rip Off Press, 1970
Nice copy! It has a little handling wear and one corner bump, but overall better than average for it’s age. Easily Fine/Very Fine (or better).
Topics in this comic book are as relevant today as they were in 1970! We’re dealing with the same bullshit! We definitely need a modern day version of Trashman (Luigi?) and the kick ass She Devils!
Spain Rodriguez was an influential underground comix artist known for his bold, socially charged work, including Trashman and contributions to Zap Comix. His art blended radical politics with gritty, streetwise storytelling. Rip Off Press, founded in 1969, was a key publisher of underground comix, releasing works by artists like Gilbert Shelton (The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers) and Rodriguez.
